UNOFFICIAL TITLE: PARTY PLANNER.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved planning and hosting. There’s just something beautiful about preparation and seeing the final outcome…it’s a natural high if you will and I absolutely love it.
Jason and I started the conversation about his 40th birthday many moons ago. There was never a question of if I was going to plan something special for him, but when and where! He says it was a given. haha. I guess he’s right. Knowing that 40 was a milestone birthday for this guy, I started planning and saving pretty early on, as I knew I wanted this to be one of the most memorable birthdays of his life! And based on the giddy smile that I saw on his face the night of June 29th, tells me that it was exactly that!
A few summers ago, I attended a magical dinner party at Jorgensen Farms with a brand and was in awe of the wanderlust and splendor I felt that evening. In that moment, I instantly knew that Jorgensen Farms was going to be the spot for Jason’s 40th! One of the things I love most about this place is the natural beauty it possesses. Just a beautiful blank canvas that you can lighty touch up to add your personal style or you can completely transform it, the choice is up to YOU. For those who are native to Columbus, you might only know Jorgensen as a wedding venue, but it can also be utilized for intimate celebrations and dinner parties. Due to availability, I was able to select a week day for the party, which isn’t what I had dreamed of originally, but it ended up working out beautifully. Another important detail to notate about Jorgensen, they are high touch and really go the extra mile for you. You are provided with a day of event coordinator, linens, in-house catering (which must be utilized when using this property), service staff and other delightful little add-ons, like adult lawn games and such. This space was my big investment for the party and well worth it.
Speaking of investments, for me, this was a spare no expense type of birthday celebration. My goal was to ensure that Jason felt incredibly loved and valued and that our guests were able to come and simply enjoy...I wanted their time with us to be a moment where they also felt loved and valued too. A moment where they could simply disconnect and enjoy! While I planned and saved a more generous budget for this evening, I want to kindly note that having a generous budget is not a prerequisite to hosting a well-fashioned adult birthday party. I encourage you to lean into what feels right for YOU.
After I secured the venue, three things were very important to me: live music, top notch non-alcoholic sips and a magical mood. Combined, I felt confident those things would make the evening really special. While I was delighted to have all these elements included in the party, I was most excited about having a true Non-Alcoholic bar. If you know me, then you already know Lyre’s was the focal point of these celebratory sips. Jason and I both love the brand immensely and it was so great to share it with our close friends and family.
Ok, now that I have talked too much, here’s a quick recap of the living:
