LESS IS MORE.
Back in the day, I was totally the girl who had a serious makeup kit. Part of that is attributed to the fact that I grew up as a pageant girl, and in ballet and theater, so I spent a lot of time in this sort of creative process that called for a lot of makeup. And while that was a really fun part of my life and I look back on it fondly, now I’m 33 and really don’t like using as much product. And that is contributed to a number things…not having a lot of time in the mornings, wanting to have naturally great skin and more. Having this realization has really started this slow evolution of “less is more,” when it comes to makeup.
Over the last six years, I have really been taking the time to thoughtfully curate my beauty regimen, as well as my everyday makeup solutions. Having this curated regimen is a really important part of living a well-fashioned life if you ask me. And today, I want to share with you some products that I recently have layered into my makeup routine that have allowed me to simplify and really just do my face in about five minutes and go. And honestly, it’s really not even “putting a face on,” because with these products I’m simply enhancing what I naturally already have!
So, without further ado, here are a handful of products that I’ve recently acquired from Sephora that are allowing me to live much more simply, when it comes to makeup. And oh yes, for this trip and product acquisition was successful thanks to my good friend and go-to makeup artist for all things, Angie Warren. I’ve shared about Angie here on the blog before and you can find a little more about her HERE. But she’s the real deal and the type of makeup artist who is into natural beauty fo sho. So when it came time to lean into this fully, I knew I wanted to have her their instructing and guiding on what makes the most sense for ME!
Tower 28 Sunnydays spf tinted sunscreen foundation
We all know how critical SPF is in our daily routine, and this little gem runs double duty as an SPF 30 and a foundation. It is pretty light coverage, but it’s definitely buildable, so I can modify application depending on how much coverage I want that day.
Dior Backstage concealer
I love this concealer because it is caffeine-infused and full coverage, so it really helps me look much more awake! It’s available in 22 shades and finishes, and I love that it’s hydrating so it doesn’t dry out those extra sensitive areas of my face.
Anastasia brow freeze extreme hold laminated-look sculpting wax
This sculpting wax is my holy grail brow product. It provides extreme hold to perfect and finalize a fluffy, groomed brow look.
NARS Laguna Bronzing Cream
This bronzer is so creamy and feels delicious on my skin! It’s super easy to blend and I love the clean formula - it’s paraben and phthalate free.
Patrick Ta Major Sculpt Creme Contour and Powder Bronzer Duo
I love this little cream-and-powder bronzer duo. It is super portable, and provides the perfect amount of sculpting and contour to finish my look. I apply this product with the Patrick Ta Major Sculpt Contour Brush, and it makes application so easy.
Beautyblender BOUNCE Always On Radiant Skin Tint
I love this hydrating skin tint to give me some extra glow, especially during the winter months! It’s light coverage, so I can build it as I need to, and the hyaluronic acid helps reduce any fine lines that could be highlighted by other products.
Merit The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick
This little complexion stick packs a huge punch. It’s super portable so it’s easy for on-the-go touchups, and is available in twenty different shades.
Saie Dew Blush Liquid Cheek Blush
I absolutely love this blush in the color “spicy.” It’s a water-based gel blush, which helps it blend really well into the makeup I already have on. Aside from being beautiful, it has some key skincare ingredients in the formula that work as you use the product over time.
Merit Brush No. 1 Tapered Blending Brush
This brush is my go-to for blending my complexion products. It’s incredibly soft and gentle on my skin while still beautifully blending everything seamlessly.
And there you have it my girls. A few of the gems I’m using on the daily! Oh yes, I’m not sure if you know but that time of year has come once again…THE SEPHORA SAVINGS EVENT. It commences this Friday. Time to get those baskets ready. Access to sale is pending your status, but I’ve got that outlined below.
Use this time to thoughtfully acquire and stock up on things YOU need. Make a shopping list and be intentional.
Cheers to natural beauty.
EN VERITE,
Candace
